Public transportation services, licensed taxis and rideshare, private transfer companies and car rental services in Amsterdam Schiphol airport (AMS)
On level -2 of the World Trade Center parking lot, 5 minutes from the terminal, you will find vehicles from SHARE NOW and SIXT share.
You can also request an Uber vehicle. To do so, download the app on your mobile phone, choose the airport as your starting point and wait for your ride to be confirmed. Follow the instructions on the app to meet your driver. He/she will usually be waiting for you on the Arrivals level, outside exit gate B. Estimated fares to Amsterdam city centre from €71.00.
Metered taxis, private or shared for up to 8 passengers are available 24 hours a day in front of Schiphol Plaza. More comfortable executive taxis are also available. The journey time to the centre of Amsterdam is around 20 minutes and the fare is around €45.00-60.00.
This is the quickest and cheapest option for getting to the centre of Amsterdam. The station is directly below the terminal, and NS trains (Tel +31 30 751 5155) run from there. Intercity services connect the site with Amsterdam Centraal (20 min. trip; from €4.90 pre-purchase), Rotterdam (30 min.; €14.50) and Breda (55 min.; €22.40).
Other services travel to Hilversum, Hoorn, Leiden, Lelystad, Venlo, Hoofddorp, Almere, Den Haag, Nijmegen, Groningen, Amersfoort, Leeuwarden, Enschede. There are also high-speed trains to different locations in Germany (Bonn, Dortmund, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Hannover, Munich, Osnabrück) and Belgium (Antwerp, Mechelen, Brussels, Leuven, Gent).
Tickets are available from ticket machines located near the baggage carousels in Arrivals 1, 2 and 3, and at Schiphol Plaza. You can also use the OV-chipkaart for unlimited travel on metro, bus, tram and train services, and choose a 1, 2 or 3-day pass.
The site is served by an extensive network of direct buses to surrounding areas. Bus stops are located in front of Schiphol Plaza, a few metres from the Arrivals Hall.
Line 397 (Amsterdam Express) runs every 15 minutes to the city centre, via Nieuw-Vennep, Hoofddorp, De Hoek, Anderlechtlaan, Olympisch Station, Haarlemmermeerstation, Museumplein, Rijksmuseum and Leidseplein. This 1, 2 or 3 day ticket combines travel by train or bus from the airport with unlimited GVB travel around Amsterdam. It can be used on all trams, buses, metro and night buses in the Amsterdam metropolitan area. The ticket price is €18.00 for 1 day, €24.00 for 2 days and €30.00 for 3 days.
