Overnight layover guide. Sleeping facilities in the public zone or boarding area
Please note that some published services and schedules may be subject to change. If the idea is to spend the night in the public area, consider a plan B in case the stay inside the airport is only allowed for those who are about to board.
Spending the night at the airport
Antofagasta Airport is small and has limited facilities. Even so, it is open 24 hours a day, so passengers with an early morning flight can spend the night inside the terminal. It can be an uncomfortable experience, but in some cases it is necessary, and if you are prepared, you can get a good night's rest. Keep your belongings safe at all times. Use padlocks for your bags and keep your valuables with you. If possible, try to sleep near other people and in well-lit, well-supervised areas.
Where to rest: Bring a sleeping bag or blankets if you plan to spend the night at the airport, in case you have to lie on the floor. Also consider bringing earplugs and a sleeping mask to block out noise and light. There is a VIP lounge on the second floor that offers greater comfort and privacy, although it closes at night and the maximum stay is 2 hours. The nearest accommodations are in the city center.
Baggage: There are no left luggage services at this airport at this time.
Eating and drinking: Shops are closed at night.
Wi-Fi: Free access.
