Overnight layover guide. Sleeping facilities in the public zone or boarding area
Please note that some published services and schedules may be subject to change. If the idea is to spend the night in the public area, consider a plan B in case the stay inside the airport is only allowed for those who are about to board.
Spending the night at the airport
Birmingham Airport is open 24 hours a day, but passengers wishing to spend the night on the premises will need to stay in the public area once the security checkpoint closes for the night. The terminal is noisy and has bright lights throughout the day and night, so a sleeping mask, headphones or earplugs are recommended.
Where to rest: As there are few seats and those that are available are uncomfortable, your best option may be to lie on the floor. On the other hand, VIP lounges are also available, although they close at night. Alternatively, you can check into one of the hotels within the grounds.
Baggage: There is a left-luggage service, but it operates from 4:00 am to 10:00 pm. This means that you will have to stay with your bags until check-in time.
Eating and drinking: The only options open during the evening are the
Costa and
Greggs cafes, in the Arrivals area.
Wi-Fi: Free and unlimited.
Other services available around the clock: ATMs, convenience store, baby changing rooms, children's play areas.
