Overnight layover guide. Sleeping facilities in the public zone or boarding area
Please note that some published services and schedules may be subject to change. If the idea is to spend the night in the public area, consider a plan B in case the stay inside the airport is only allowed for those who are about to board.
Spending the night at the airport
Budapest airport has plenty of shopping and eating facilities. However, it is not one of the most comfortable places to rest, as well as being quite noisy. It is therefore advisable to have earplugs or headphones handy.
Where to rest: While there are many seats available for passengers inside the terminals, they are not very comfortable for sleeping. In general, the public area before the security checkpoint is more comfortable, particularly in the SkyCourt building, where cushioned benches are available. The corridors connecting the terminals are generally quieter, but you will have to lie on the floor. If you have a larger budget or a suitable membership, you can enter one of the VIP lounges for more comfort. The only problem is that they close at night. There are a number of accommodations in the vicinity of the enclosure, and some even offer shuttle services.
Baggage: The airport left luggage service operates only from 6:00 am to 10:00 pm.
Eating and drinking: Most places close for the evening, but you can find some 24-hour options in the SkyCourt building, including duty-free shops.
Wi-Fi: Free during 4 hours.
Other services available around the clock: ATMs, children's play areas, baby changing facilities, shopping facilities.
