Overnight layover guide. Sleeping facilities in the public zone or boarding area
Please note that some published services and schedules may be subject to change. If the idea is to spend the night in the public area, consider a plan B in case the stay inside the airport is only allowed for those who are about to board.
Overnight stay at the airport
Guangzhou airport is always busy, even at night, so if you decide to spend the night inside, you'd better have headphones or earplugs to keep the noise out of your ears.
Where to rest: Comfortable seats without armrests can be found on the food court level, below the Departures area. On the other hand, there are numerous VIP lounges past the security checkpoint. Some are open 24 hours a day, but most are closed at night. Otherwise, there is a hotel in the international boarding area of Terminal 2 and another in front of gate 12 in Terminal 1.
Baggage: There are several offices providing left-luggage services in both terminals, which are also available 24 hours a day.
Eating and drinking: Night-time options are located on the first floor of Terminal 1 and on the first and fourth floors of Terminal 2.
Restrooms: Showers are available only in some VIP lounges, but not in the public toilets.
Wi-Fi: Free for 5 hours.
Other services available 24 hours a day: ATMs, bureaux de change, baby hygiene facilities, duty-free shops, protective luggage stamping.
