Transportation
Bus
There are different services to the city, with stops at major hotels and the transport centre, with frequencies of 20-30 minutes. They operate from 5:30 am and the journey to the centre of Guangzhou takes approximately 60 min. They depart from outside the Arrivals area. More information: Tel +86 203 606 3156.
There are also long-distance buses every 1 hour connecting the airport to various destinations in southern China, including Zhuhai, Zhongshan, Shenzhen, Huizhou, Foshan, Shunde, Zhaoqing, Dongguan, Taishan, Qingyuan, Yangjiang, Yunfu, Shaoguan, Heyuan and Jiangmen.
Metro
Guangzhou Metro line 3 (Tel +86 209 689) runs to Tianhe Terminal, Guangzhou East Railway Station, LinheXi and Tiyu Xi from 6:00 am to 0:08 am, with intervals of about 7 minutes. Intermediate stops include Renhe, Longgui, Jiahewanggang, Baiyundadaobei, Yongtai, Tonghe, Meihuayuan and Yantang. Travel time is approximately 50 min. There are two stations at the airport: Airport South (Terminal 1) and Airport North (Terminal 2). The service provides connections to line 2 to Guangzhou South Railway Station.
Taxi
Taxi ranks are located outside gates A5 and A12 and between gates B4 and B5 in Terminal 1, and outside gate 53 in Terminal 2. Available operators include
Guangzhou Taxi (Tel +86 96900) and
Guangzhou GTG Taxi (Tel +86 96122). Travel time to downtown Guangzhou is 30-60 minutes. It is illegal to pay with any foreign currency in China.
