Overnight layover guide. Sleeping facilities in the public zone or boarding area
Please note that some published services and schedules may be subject to change. If the idea is to spend the night in the public area, consider a plan B in case the stay inside the airport is only allowed for those who are about to board.
Spending the night at the airport
Congonhas airport operates many flights within the country, so it is common to find many passengers waiting for their flight to depart even at night.
Where to rest: Most of the benches in the terminal have armrests. However, you can find quiet places to lie on the floor if you have a sleeping bag, especially on the third floor. Another option (for a fee or with a credit card that provides the service) is to use one of the VIP lounges, where you can access greater comfort and privacy, although they close at night. Finally, since the airport is located within the city, numerous lodging options exist in the surrounding area.
Baggage: The terminal's luggage storage facility operates 24 hours a day so that you can leave your bags overnight for a more restful night's sleep.
Eating and drinking: Two cafeterias in the central hall are open 24 hours a day.
Wi-Fi: Free and unlimited.
Other services available around the clock: ATMs, baby changing facilities, medical clinic, pharmacy.
