Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, opened on 1st May 1985, is the most important airport in Indonesia and one of the busiest in Southeast Asia. In addition to handling most of the country's domestic flights, it operates international routes across Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and Oceania.

Number of terminals - 3 - Terminals 1 (domestic flights), 2 and 3 (domestic and international flights). Open 24 hours a day and connected by a free shuttle bus service every 30 minutes. There is also a people mover system (Skytrain) that links the terminals and the airport railway station from 4:00 am to 0:00 am.

The airport is located in the districts of Benda and Cengkareng, 20 km (12 miles) northwest of central Jakarta.
