Overnight layover guide. Sleeping facilities in the public zone or boarding area
Please note that some published services and schedules may be subject to change. If the idea is to spend the night in the public area, consider a plan B in case the stay inside the airport is only allowed for those who are about to board.
Overnight stay within the airport
You may find it necessary to spend the night inside the airport if you have a long layover or if your flight leaves early in the morning. In the case of Chengdu Airport, it is open 24 hours a day, so you should have no problem staying overnight. While it is a safe place, always keep your belongings close by. Bring earplugs and a sleeping mask for a better night's sleep.
Where to rest: Find a quiet place and gather some seats without armrests so you can lie down. There are also some VIP lounges inside the terminals that offer more comfort, but they are closed at night. In Terminal 2, you'll find private cabins that you can rent by the hour, and there are two hotels in the vicinity of the premises.
Eating and drinking: Shops tend to close around 10:00 pm, so it's best to have snacks and drinks ready beforehand.
Baggage: The left-luggage service in Terminal 2 is closed at night, which means you'll have to keep your bags until check-in time.
Showers: Only available in some of the VIP lounges.
Wi-Fi: Access is free and unlimited.
