Car Hire at Washington National airport (DCA)

The offices are located on the first floor of Parking 1. You can get there by walking from the terminals (about 10-15 minutes) or by taking the free airport shuttles. In Terminal 1, wait for them on the middle curb, between doors 1 and 2, and in Terminal 2 on the first curb, near doors 3 and 8.

You can also request cars from a couple of companies located outside the airport facilities. Shuttles to their offices can be boarded at the north end of Terminal 1, on the outer curb, outside door 5, and on the third curb of Terminal 2, near doors 3 and 8.

1. Certify that you have a valid driver's license to drive in the destination country. If you are a foreigner, check if you need to validate your license in your country of origin. 3. Take into account the traffic rules that currently apply in the destination country. Maximum speeds allowed on highways, avenues and streets, priorities of passage at intersections without traffic lights, tolerance of allowed blood alcohol, etc.
 
4. Direction of movement and the way in which cars should be driven on the streets. If the side where the steering wheel is located in the cars of your country matches the vehicles in the destination country.
 
5. Know the procedure to follow in case of starring in or suffering a traffic accident.
