Overnight layover guide. Sleeping facilities in the public zone or boarding area
Please note that some published services and schedules may be subject to change. If the idea is to spend the night in the public area, consider a plan B in case the stay inside the airport is only allowed for those who are about to board.
Spending the night at the airport
Domodedovo airport operates many flights and connections globally, and it is not uncommon to see many passengers inside the terminal at night, waiting for their flight to depart. As a major international airport, tight security measures are to be expected, but it is always wise to be vigilant and take care of your belongings.
Where to rest: There are plenty of seats, but most have armrests. A secluded place to lie on the floor is outside the chapel on the boarding level. Take an inflatable pillow and a light blanket with you to make your rest more comfortable. On level 1, you may also find a resting area. Another viable alternative is to make use of one of the VIP lounges, many of which are open 24 hours a day. Note that some of them may limit your stay to a maximum of 3 or 4 hours. If the wait is considerably longer, a hotel can be found next to the site.
Baggage: You have access to a 24-hour left-luggage service, allowing you to forget about your bags until check-in time.
Eating and drinking: Most of the many options remain open throughout the night.
Restrooms: Showers in the VIP lounges.
Wi-Fi: Free and unlimited.
Other services available around the clock: ATMs, currency exchange bureaus, baby changing rooms, children's play areas, pharmacy.
