Overnight layover guide. Sleeping facilities in the public zone or boarding area
Please note that some published services and schedules may be subject to change. If the idea is to spend the night in the public area, consider a plan B in case the stay inside the airport is only allowed for those who are about to board.
Overnight at the airport
Darwin airport is open 24 hours a day, so you'll be able to stay inside if you have an early morning flight or if your flight has been delayed. Headphones or earplugs are recommended, as there is often movement even at night.
Where to rest: In the boarding area, you can find long benches to lie down on, otherwise you will have to use the floor. On the other hand, the airport's VIP lounge offers more comfort and privacy, although it is closed at night. About 300 metres from the terminal, there are two hotels for those passengers who want a better rest.
Baggage: There are lockers in the car parks where you can leave your bags until the next day.
Eating and drinking: At the moment, there are no options that remain open overnight, except for a few vending machines.
Restrooms: Showers are available in the VIP lounge.
Wi-Fi: The service is free and unlimited.
Other services available around the clock: ATMs, baby changing rooms, massage chairs.
