Spending the night at the airport

It is not uncommon to find many passengers at Dubai airport who are waiting for connecting flights in the early hours of the morning and therefore spend part of the night inside the terminals. As well as being open 24 hours a day, it offers a number of services and amenities to make the wait as comfortable as possible.

Where to rest: Most seats have armrests, making it uncomfortable to rest. Only a few seats are reclining, so if you find one free, take it quickly. They are located in Terminal 3, concourses A and B, next to gates A1, A16, A21, A24, B1-2, B7-8, B10-11, B14-23, B25-27, B29 and B31-32.

Due to the powerful air-conditioning system, it is usually quite cool inside the terminals, so it is advisable to have a blanket or warm clothes at hand. At the same time, as there is a lot of movement in the early morning, it tends to be very bright and noisy, so it is best to have a mask and earplugs.

For those passengers who wish to sleep more comfortably, there are sleeping cabins in terminals 1 and 3 with TV, luggage storage and Wi-Fi. Another option (either for a fee or with a credit card service) is to use one of the VIP lounges, which offer greater comfort and privacy and are available 24 hours a day. There is also a hotel in Terminal 3 and other options nearby.

Luggage: The left luggage service (in the Arrivals area of terminals 1 and 3) is available around the clock, so you can rest easy without having to carry your bags around.

Eating and drinking: The food court is open 24 hours a day.

Restrooms: Showers are available on the Departures level in both Terminal 1 (between gates C18 and C22) and Terminal 3 (between gates B13 and B19 and between gates A1 and A24). Also in the VIP lounges.

Wi-Fi: The airport has free, unlimited access, although it tends to be a little slow, so if you want to use it for work or planning your next move, you'll need to access the pre-paid service. There are power sockets and USB ports for recharging mobile devices.

Other services available around the clock: Shops, medical clinics, foreign exchange bureaux, baby changing facilities, children's entertainment area, prayer rooms, pharmacies.
