Kunming Changshui International Airport, opened on 28 June 2012, is the main air terminal serving Kunming, the capital city of Yunnan Province, and one of the key gateways to South and Southeast Asia. There are information counters in the Departures Hall on the third floor, next to the domestic security checkpoint, the commercial area of both the domestic and international sectors (second floor), and the reception hall on the first basement level.

It is important to note that renting a car requires a Chinese driving licence. International driving permits are not accepted. For this reason, the most popular option for tourists is to hire a car with a driver.
The car park is located next to the south side of the terminal and is divided into two levels, B2 and B3. It is available for both short- and long-term stays, with the first 15 minutes free of charge. Fees are calculated every 30 min.
