Car Hire at Los Angeles airport (LAX)

Car rental offices are located outside the airport, away from the terminals. The following companies are authorized to pick up and drop off customers at the passenger terminals using a courtesy shuttle service. You will need to wait for them under the purple 'Rental Car Shuttles' sign in the lower/arrivals level islands outside baggage claim.

Remote Rental Cars

Vehicles can also be requested from companies located outside the airport. They are required to meet customers at the Remote Rental Car Depot, located at the intersection of Century and Airport boulevards. Customers should wait at the 'PINK LAX Shuttle' sign on the lower/arrivals level in front of each terminal and board the "Metro Connector" bus.

1. Certify that you have a valid driver's license to drive in the destination country. If you are a foreigner, check if you need to validate your license in your country of origin. It should be noted that the International permit is NOT valid by itself, it must always be accompanied by the National Driver's License.

3. Take into account the traffic rules that currently apply in the destination country. Maximum speeds allowed on highways, avenues and streets, priorities of passage at intersections without traffic lights, tolerance of allowed blood alcohol, etc.
 
4. Direction of movement and the way in which cars should be driven on the streets. If the side where the steering wheel is located in the cars of your country matches the vehicles in the destination country.
 
5. Know the procedure to follow in case of starring in or suffering a traffic accident.
