Overnight layover guide. Sleeping facilities in the public zone or boarding area
Please note that some published services and schedules may be subject to change. If the idea is to spend the night in the public area, consider a plan B in case the stay inside the airport is only allowed for those who are about to board.
Lisbon airport is quite friendly for passengers who have an early morning flight and have to spend the night inside the premises. Its terminals are open 24 hours a day, although most services are interrupted during the early hours of the morning. It is advisable to have blankets or a sleeping bag, as the air conditioning is often strong.
Although both terminals remain open, Terminal 1 is more comfortable, while Terminal 2 offers a wider range of dining and shopping options, although everything is closed in the early hours of the morning. There are special seating areas next to gates S19 and S20, in Terminal 1. There are also lounge chairs near the food court and on the upper level, and quiet corners by gates 7-13 and 40-50. Another option is to enter one of the VIP lounges, where you have access to greater comfort and privacy. The only problem is that they close at night. On the other hand, there are two hotels next to Terminal 1.
There are lockers outside the Terminal 1 boarding area, where you can leave your bags 24 hours a day.
Terminal 1 has some food outlets both in the public area and in the boarding area that are open throughout the night.
Showers are available inside the VIP lounges.
Access is free and unlimited.
Other services available around the clock:
ATMs, baby changing rooms, children's play area.
