Ljubljana Joze Pucnik Airport, opened on December 24, 1963, is the busiest in Slovenia and serves not only the capital area, but the whole country. It operates flights to several major destinations in Europe, North Africa and the Middle East.

The airport is located in Brnik, 24 km (15 miles) northwest of Ljubljana and 9.5 km (5.9 miles) east of Kranj.
