Overnight layover guide. Sleeping facilities in the public zone or boarding area
Please note that some published services and schedules may be subject to change. If the idea is to spend the night in the public area, consider a plan B in case the stay inside the airport is only allowed for those who are about to board.
Is it possible to stay overnight at the airport?
Mexico City Airport is open 24 hours a day, so passengers with an early morning departure or connecting flight have the alternative of spending the night inside one of its terminals.
Where to rest?
The most suitable area for resting is the boarding area. Passengers must have a boarding pass to access this area. If you are unable to check in, you will have to stay in the public area, where seats are scarce and you will probably have to lie down on the floor. It is always advisable to have a mask and earplugs to insulate you from noise and lights. Another option (paying or with a credential that provides you with the service) is to use one of the VIP lounges, where you can have access to more comfort and privacy, bathrooms with showers, etc. Some of them are open all night. An economical alternative for a more private rest are the
izZzleep sleeping capsules. For a longer rest, and if the pocket allows it, the airport has hotels. See below for details of the different options.
Is there luggage storage?
There are 24-hour left-luggage services in both buildings, so if you have to wait to check in, you can rest easier and without the worry of having to keep an eye on your bags. They are located next to gate E41 in Terminal 1 and gates A45 and A46 in Terminal 2. Alternatively, there are luggage storage services in the vicinity of the airport, such as
Stasher,
Qeepl and
Bounce.
Are there places to eat and drink 24 hours a day?
A wide variety of dining options, with restaurants, fast food outlets, bars and cafes open 24 hours a day.
Does Mexico City Airport have showers?
Showers are available inside the VIP lounges in both terminals and in the
izZzleep sleeping pod facilities.
Does Mexico City Airport have free Wi-Fi?
Use of the Wi-Fi network is free and unlimited both in the boarding lounges, the concourses and food courts of both terminals. Connect to the 'Gratis_CDMX_Aeropuerto' network.
Other services available around the clock
ATMs, currency exchange offices, shops, pharmacies.
