Overnight layover guide. Sleeping facilities in the public zone or boarding area

Please note that some published services and schedules may be subject to change. If the idea is to spend the night in the public area, consider a plan B in case the stay inside the airport is only allowed for those who are about to board.

Can you spend the night at the airport?

Mexico City Airport is open 24 hours, so passengers with a connecting flight or an early morning departure have the option to spend the night inside one of its terminals.

Where to rest?

The most suitable area for rest is the boarding area. You must have a boarding pass to access this area. If you cannot check in, you will have to stay in the public area, where seats are scarce and you may have to lie on the floor. It is always advisable to have a sleep mask and earplugs on hand to block out noise and light.

Another option (for a fee or with a membership that provides the service) is to use one of the VIP lounges, where you can enjoy greater comfort and privacy, showers, etc. Some lounges are open all night.

A budget-friendly alternative for more private rest is the izZzleep sleeping capsules. For a longer rest, and if budget allows, the airport has hotels. Different options are detailed below.

Is there luggage storage service?

There are 24-hour luggage storage services in both buildings, so if you have to wait to check in, you can rest more comfortably without worrying about your bags. They are located next to gate E41 in Terminal 1 and gates A45 and A46 in Terminal 2. As an alternative, there are luggage storage services near the airport, such as Stasher, Qeepl, and Bounce.

Are there 24-hour food and beverage options?

Wide variety of dining options, including restaurants, fast-food outlets, bars, and cafés open 24 hours.

Does Mexico City Airport have showers?

Showers are available inside the VIP lounges in both terminals and at the izZzleep sleeping capsules facilities.

Does Mexico City Airport offer free Wi-Fi?

Wi-Fi use is free and unlimited in both the boarding areas and the hallways and food courts of both terminals. Connect to the network 'Gratis_CDMX_Aeropuerto'.

Other services available around the clock

ATMs, currency exchange offices, shops, pharmacies.
