Buses, minibuses, trains and taxis connect the airport with Milano Centrale station, the Milan metropolitan area, Bergamo Orio al Serio and Milan Linate airports, the Fiera Milano complex, northern Italy and the Swiss canton.

Buses are the cheapest option (€10.00 - one way) and take between 40 and 50 minutes from the airport to Milan Central Station (Milano Centrale).

The Saco TPL service connects the airport with neighbouring municipalities, such as Castelnovate, Gallarate, Cardano and Somma Lombardo.

Volpi travels between the airport and the city of Genoa.

Flibco and Airport Bus offer connections to the airport and the city of Turin.

STN connects the site with Novara.

Alibus goes to the Lago Maggiore area.

Autoservizi Comazzi offers connections to Domodossola.

Train

Malpensa Airport can be easily reached from the centre of Milan by the Malpensa Express train from Cadorna, Centrale, Porta Garibaldi and Bovisa stations. The train stops at Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. The Tilo regional train service connects Malpensa with Varese and the canton of Ticino, in Switzerland.

Malpensa Express

The service connects the centre of Milan with the airport and vice versa, with trains running 7 days a week. It links Milan's main stations (Bovisa, Cadorna, Porta Garibaldi, Centrale) with terminals 1 and 2.

To/from Milano Centrale

Departures from Centrale station: first trip at 5:25 am, last trip at 11:25 pm. Trains scheduled every 30 minutes.
Departures from Terminal 1: first trip at 5:37 am, last trip at 10:37 pm. Trains scheduled every 30 minutes.

Journey time: 54 minutes.

To/from Milano Cadorna

Departures from Cadorna station: first journey at 4:27 am, last journey at 11:27 pm. Trains scheduled every 30 minutes.

Connections to Varese and Switzerland (Tilo trains)

The Tilo regional train service connects Malpensa terminals with Canton Ticino in Switzerland every day, with stops in Gallarate, Varese, Mendrisio, Lugano and Bellinzona.

Departures from Como: the first train leaves Bellinzona station at 4:33 am, followed by trains every hour until 9:33 pm.

Departures from Malpensa Terminal 1: the first train leaves at 6:13 am, followed by trains every hour until 11:13 pm.

Travel time: 2 hours and 13 minutes.

With the extension of the S50 to Malpensa Airport, the S40 line only goes to Varese, Monday to Saturday from 5:30 am to 8:00 pm.

Uber pick-up locations at airports are subject to change, so to find your driver, always check the app after requesting a ride. Estimated fare to/from the airport to Milan city centre: €111.00 (price may be affected by weather, traffic and other factors).

Although there are issues that seem more than obvious, it is always advisable to take them into account when moving to or from the airport, and especially if we go by public transport.  1- To the airport - It is convenient to leave with a little more anticipation than what is commonly suggested. If you choose a taxi or a private car service, always take into account peak traffic times, demonstrations, strikes or events that may delay the journey to the airport from where you are. It is always good to be informed about what is happening. If you contract a shared transfer service, have a contact telephone number handy in case of any delay by the company. In these cases they usually already have a scheduled collection time. If you use public transport (collective, train) take into account the schedules (weekends and holidays tend to have less frequency), if you have to change and also how to board (if you need a card or paying the driver or motorist at the moment ). These are details that seem obvious, but it is advisable to know so as not to have surprises and suffer a delay that could cause complications. If you rent a car to get to the airport, check where to leave the vehicle. At some airports, there is an exclusive parking lot for rental cars.  2 -From the airport- Here it is a little less stressful since you don't have the pressure of missing your flight. In the worst case, you will arrive later at the place where you are going to stay or at the meeting point where you are trying to arrive. Once you leave the plane, look for your suitcase and finish with the arrival procedures that are required. Then, follow the directions for public transportation or ask the airport staff. It is very useful to find out in advance the schedules of the buses or trains in case you arrive late at night. Not all work 24 hours. The same goes for taxis. In case of using an Uber-type service, have the mobile application handy to contact the driver. On the other hand, if you booked a private transport service, it is likely that they will have a person waiting for you, identified with a sign. If you rent a car to go from the airport to your final destination, for greater peace of mind it is advisable to book it in advance. Rental counters are usually available in the arrivals hall.
