What are the express bus services?

Shuttles connecting the airport with the city of Porto and neighbouring towns:

Airport Shuttle (Tel +351 960 426 692) connects the enclosure with the city centre, operating every 30 min. from 4:00 am to 0:35 am. Fares from €31.00.

Goin'Porto (Tel +351 918 745 870) offers private or shared minibus services to different areas of Porto, while Transdev (Tel +351 222 006 954) has regular trips to Porto bus terminal (€3.00).

Buses from Barquense (Tel +351 258 454 303) run several times a day to Esposende (€11.00), Viana do Castelo (€12.00), Ponte de Lima (€13.00), Arcos de Valdevez and Ponte da Barca (€16.00).

Get Bus (Tel +351 253 262 371) runs to Porto (€3.00), Braga (€9.00) and Guimaríes (€8.00), with a journey time of 50 min. Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 7:00 pm, weekends and holidays from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm and from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm.

Line E Violet from Metro do Porto (Tel +351 225 081 000) connects the enclosure to Estádio do Dragão in 40 minutes, with a frequency of 20-30 min. from 6:06 am to 0:42 am. The fare is €2.15 + 0.60 (Metro card). Intermediate stops at Botica, Verdes, Crestins, Esposade, Custóias, Sete Bicas, Ramalde, Trindade and Campanhí.

Which bus lines connect to the airport?

There are different STCP services (Tel +351 229 999 540 / 350 530) from the enclosure, with a frequency of 25-30 minutes:

601 - Cordoaria, Praça Galiza, Boavista, Exponor, Pedras Rubras (from 5:30 am to 0:30 am).
602 - Cordoaria, Monte dos Burgos, Padrão da Légua, Ponte de Moreira, Pedras Rubras (5:30 am to 0:30 am)
604 - Hospital São João, Ponte da Pedra, Vasco da Gama, Maia, Padrão Moreira, Crestins, Pedras Rubras (6:00 am to 9:00 pm)

The single ticket costs €2.15 and the journey time to the city centre is 35 min.

Maré de Matosinhos (Tel +351 229 399 060 / 061) operates line 120 to Farrapas, Santa Cruz do Bispo, Mar Shopping, Leça, Matosinhos and Guifõs. Departures Monday to Friday between 6:10 am and 8:00 pm, Saturdays from 6:55 am to 7:45 pm and Sundays from 7:50 am to 7:45 pm.

How much does a taxi from the airport to downtown cost?

The approximate average fare to the city centre is around €25.00. ANTRAL cabs (Tel  +351 225 353 359) are available 24 hours a day outside the Arrivals Hall. The journey to the centre of Porto takes 20-30 minutes.

How much does it cost and where to wait for an Uber at Porto airport?

An Uber ride costs between €12.00 and €22.00. When you request the ride, the app will ask if you prefer to wait in the Departures or Arrivals area.

Transportation Tips to/from the airport

Although there are issues that seem more than obvious, it is always advisable to take them into account when moving to or from the airport, and especially if we go by public transport.
 
 1- To the airport - It is convenient to leave with a little more anticipation than what is commonly suggested. If you choose a taxi or a private car service, always take into account peak traffic times, demonstrations, strikes or events that may delay the journey to the airport from where you are. It is always good to be informed about what is happening.
 
If you contract a shared transfer service, have a contact telephone number handy in case of any delay by the company. In these cases they usually already have a scheduled collection time.
 
If you use public transport (collective, train) take into account the schedules (weekends and holidays tend to have less frequency), if you have to change and also how to board (if you need a card or paying the driver or motorist at the moment ). These are details that seem obvious, but it is advisable to know so as not to have surprises and suffer a delay that could cause complications.
 
If you rent a car to get to the airport, check where to leave the vehicle. At some airports, there is an exclusive parking lot for rental cars.
 
 2 -From the airport- Here it is a little less stressful since you don't have the pressure of missing your flight. In the worst case, you will arrive later at the place where you are going to stay or at the meeting point where you are trying to arrive.
 
Once you leave the plane, look for your suitcase and finish with the arrival procedures that are required. Then, follow the directions for public transportation or ask the airport staff.
 
It is very useful to find out in advance the schedules of the buses or trains in case you arrive late at night. Not all work 24 hours. The same goes for taxis. In case of using an Uber-type service, have the mobile application handy to contact the driver.
 
On the other hand, if you booked a private transport service, it is likely that they will have a person waiting for you, identified with a sign. If you rent a car to go from the airport to your final destination, for greater peace of mind it is advisable to book it in advance. Rental counters are usually available in the arrivals hall.
