Overnight layover guide. Sleeping facilities in the public zone or boarding area
Please note that some published services and schedules may be subject to change. If the idea is to spend the night in the public area, consider a plan B in case the stay inside the airport is only allowed for those who are about to board.
Spending the night at the airport
Penang Airport is open 24 hours a day and features modern facilities. It is advisable to bring earplugs and a sleep mask if you plan to stay overnight inside the terminal.
Where to rest: The terminal offers a fair number of armrest-free wooden benches where you can lie down. Prayer rooms are also a good alternative. In addition, there are a couple of VIP lounges if you have a higher budget, and various accommodation options can be found nearby.
Baggage: There are no left luggage offices, meaning you’ll need to keep your bags with you until check-in is available.
Eating and drinking: Most shops and food outlets close at night.
Restrooms: Showers are available in the VIP lounges and on level 2 of the terminal.
Wi-Fi: Free and unlimited access.
