Overnight layover guide. Sleeping facilities in the public zone or boarding area
Please note that some published services and schedules may be subject to change. If the idea is to spend the night in the public area, consider a plan B in case the stay inside the airport is only allowed for those who are about to board.
Spending the night at the airport
Palermo airport is fairly quiet and is open 24 hours a day, so you can stay inside the enclosure overnight. Still, it's not an ideal option, as the airport has no designated sleeping areas. However, there are some options that might work. In any case, it is important to take security measures, such as keeping your personal belongings in a safe place and not leaving your things unattended.
Where to rest: Inside the terminal, you can find padded seats without armrests to lie down in public areas. Be aware that these areas can be noisy and not very private. There is also a VIP lounge on the first floor, but it is closed at night. If you don't feel comfortable sleeping at the airport, there are also several hotels nearby that can provide shuttle services if you ask in advance.
Baggage: Luggage storage is not available on the premises.
Eating and drinking: Shops are closed at night. Have snacks and drinks prepared in advance.
Wi-Fi: Free and unlimited.
Other services available around the clock: ATMs, first aid clinic.
