Overnight layover guide. Sleeping facilities in the public zone or boarding area
Please note that some published services and schedules may be subject to change. If the idea is to spend the night in the public area, consider a plan B in case the stay inside the airport is only allowed for those who are about to board.
Spending the night at the airport
Porto Alegre airport operates many flights departing in the middle of the night or early morning, so it is not uncommon to see many passengers waiting for their flight to depart late at night. The place can be very noisy, so headphones or earplugs are recommended.
Where to rest: The main terminal is large, modern and comfortable, with a good number of facilities. If you have a sleeping bag, you can lie on the floor, but be aware that security personnel may ask you to move. The nearest accommodations are located about 400 meters away.
Baggage: There is a 24-hour left-luggage service on the first floor, which means you can forget about your bags until check-in time.
Eating and drinking: You'll find alternatives that remain open at night throughout the premises.
Wi-Fi: Free access.
Other services available around the clock: ATMs, currency exchange, baby changing facilities.
