Overnight layover guide. Sleeping facilities in the public zone or boarding area
Please note that some published services and schedules may be subject to change. If the idea is to spend the night in the public area, consider a plan B in case the stay inside the airport is only allowed for those who are about to board.
Spending the night at the airport
Punta Cana Airport is small, but it is open 24 hours a day, so you have the option of spending the night inside the enclosure if you have an early morning flight or if your flight is cancelled. This way, you can avoid extra expenses in hotels and transfers.
Where to rest: There are some benches inside the terminals, as well as grassy areas between the buildings where you can lie down if you have a sleeping bag. You can also find VIP lounges inside the premises, where you can enjoy more comfort and privacy, although they close at night. Some hotels in the surrounding area, on the other hand, offer shuttle services to and from the airport.
Baggage: The terminals do not have luggage storage offices, so you will have to remain with your bags until check-in time.
Eating and drinking: There are several places throughout the airport that remain open throughout the night.
Wi-Fi: Free access.
Other services available around the clock: ATMs, nursing rooms, children's playground.
