Overnight layover guide. Sleeping facilities in the public zone or boarding area
Please note that some published services and schedules may be subject to change. If the idea is to spend the night in the public area, consider a plan B in case the stay inside the airport is only allowed for those who are about to board.
Spending the night at the airport
San Salvador Airport is open 24 hours a day and is a safe place to spend the night if you have an early morning flight and do not want to stay in a hotel.
Where to rest: Security personnel will only allow you to stay in the main hall of the terminal. There are not many benches here, so it is advisable to have a sleeping bag in case you have to lie down on the floor. Note that there are no carpeted areas and it is usually quite cold. In the boarding area, on the other hand, there are some VIP lounges with more comfort. One of them is open all night long, but the maximum stay is 5 hours. In the vicinity of the airport and in the beach area you will find several hotels.
Baggage: There are no luggage storage facilities inside the terminal.
Eating and drinking: There are a couple of 24-hour options, and there are also some vending machines.
Restrooms: Showers are available inside the VIP lounges.
Wi-Fi: Free and unlimited.
Other services available around the clock: ATMs, baby changing facilities.
