Shanghai Hongqiao airport (SHA)

Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport, opened in May 1923, is one of the largest in China. It used to be Shanghai’s main airport until the completion of Pudong Airport, at which point most international flights were transferred to the new facility. Currently, Hongqiao handles the city's domestic flights and operates only a few international routes to Japan and South Korea.

Number of Terminals - 2 - Terminal 1 (international flights) and Terminal 2 (domestic flights). Open from 4:00 am to 10:00 pm. A free shuttle bus connects both terminals every 30 minutes between 6:00 am and 11:00 pm.

The airport is located next to the town of Hongqiao, in the Changning and Minhang districts, 13 km (8 miles) west of downtown Shanghai.
