San Juan airport (SJU)

Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport, opened on May 22, 1955, serves the island of Puerto Rico and is the most important in the Caribbean. It operates with domestic flights and numerous international destinations in the Caribbean, North America, Panama, Colombia and Europe.

 Location

The airport is located in the town of Carolina, 5 km (3 miles) southeast from the city of San Juan.

Public and private transportation

Bus - There are stops from AMA (Tel +1 787 294 0500) on the Departures level of terminals A, D and E. Line E40 travels to Mall of San Juan and Piñero Station from Monday to Friday between 5:00 am and 7:30 pm and weekends from 6:00 am to 7:30 pm, with a frequency of 30 minutes. Buses D53 and T5 run to Covadonga Terminal, stopping at Isla Verde Mall and Old San Juan (Mondays through Fridays from 5:00 am to 8:45 pm, Saturdays from 6:00 am to 7:30 pm).

Taxi - Ranks are located on the Arrivals level of terminals A and B and cabs operate with fixed rates. Extra charges are applied between 10:00 pm and 6:00 am. The trip to the city centre takes between 30 and 40 minutes. Fares

Parking services at San Juan airport (SJU)

There is a 24-hour multi-storey car park next to the terminals, with spaces for short- and long-term stays. The first 15 minutes are free of charge. Automatic payment machines are available on the first and second levels, the elevators area and the connecting hallway to Terminal D. Facilities for passengers with special needs

There are ramps, elevators, people movers for passengers with reduced mobility, adapted toilets and telephones, and dedicated parking spaces. Most airlines can provide a service for minors travelling alone.
