Overnight layover guide. Sleeping facilities in the public zone or boarding area
Please note that some published services and schedules may be subject to change. If the idea is to spend the night in the public area, consider a plan B in case the stay inside the airport is only allowed for those who are about to board.
Overnight at the airport
Because it's open 24 hours a day, spending the night inside Shenzhen airport can be a practical solution if you have a long wait or if your flight leaves early in the morning. Bring essentials such as a travel pillow, a blanket and noise-cancelling headphones to help with your rest. Remember to always keep an eye on your belongings.
Where to rest: There are no designated rest areas, so you'll have to improvise. Find a quiet spot and gather some benches to lie down on. It may be worth buying a pass to one of the VIP lounges, which offer more amenities, snacks and drinks. Be aware, however, that these are closed at night. On the other hand, below are some accommodation options that are located close to the airport grounds.
Eating and drinking: There are 24-hour options on the second and fifth floors of the terminal and in the transportation centre.
Baggage: The luggage storage on the fourth floor is available 24 hours a day, so you can leave your bags there until check-in time.
Showers: Only available in some of the VIP lounges.
Wi-Fi: Free unlimited access.
Other services available around the clock: ATMs, bureaux de change, children's entertainment area, nursing rooms, convenience stores, duty-free items.
