Overnight layover guide. Sleeping facilities in the public zone or boarding area
Please note that some published services and schedules may be subject to change. If the idea is to spend the night in the public area, consider a plan B in case the stay inside the airport is only allowed for those who are about to board.
Spending the night at the airport
Lajes airport is small and open 24 hours a day, so an overnight stay is possible, but it's important to be prepared. Make sure you have the essentials with you, such as an inflatable pillow, a blanket or sleeping bag, a light jacket and toiletries. Safety is a priority. Make sure your belongings are secure at all times and be aware of your surroundings. It is always advisable to be in public, well-lit areas.
Where to rest: There are not many comfortable places inside the terminal, so you will probably end up sleeping on the floor. Keep a sleeping bag or blankets handy for comfort. Another option is to use the airport VIP lounge, although it closes at night. Finally, if spending the night at the airport doesn't seem like a comfortable option, there is also a range of accommodation available nearby.
Baggage: There are no luggage storage facilities at the airport.
Eating and drinking: Commercial stores close at night.
Wi-Fi: Free and unlimited.
