Teniente Benjamín Matienzo International Airport, opened on October 12, 1986, is the busiest in the northwestern region of Argentina and concentrates the air traffic of the province of Tucumán. The airport is located in the town of Cevil Pozo, commune of Delfín Gallo, 9 km (6 miles) east of San Miguel de Tucumán.
