Bus

There are several bus services to the city centre that depart from outside the Arrivals area of terminals 2 and 3. These connect the airport with various hotels and train stations.

- Traders Hotel at West Gate: every 20-30 minutes from 6:00 am until the arrival of the last flight.
- High Tech Zone Zhicheng Park Hotel: 7:00 am to 8:00 pm, every 20-30 minutes.
- Xi'an Railway Station Longhai Hotel: 7:00 am to 2:30 am, every 20-30 minutes.
- South Gate Xi'an Hotel: frequencies of 30-40 minutes, from 7:00 am to 2:00 am.
- Orient Hotel Hamlet: every 60 minutes, from 8:15 am to 8:15 pm.
- East Second Ring Building Hotel: operates every 40 minutes from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm.
- Xi'an North Railway Station: from 8:00 am to 9:00 pm, every 20-30 minutes.
- East Bus Station: from 7:30 am to 7:30 pm, every 60 minutes.
- North Bus Station: frequencies of 60 minutes, from 8:30 am to 7:30 pm.
- Changan District Jiyuan International Hotel: every 30 minutes, from 8:00 am to 10:00 pm.
- Hilton Garden Inn Springfield Hotel Changan District: from 9:30 am to 7:30 pm, every 60 minutes.
- Qujiang Line: Qujiang TV Talaian Center, Exhibition Centre Ramada Hotel, Wild Goose Pagoda Westin Hotel (7:40 am to 8:20 pm)
- Yitian City Line: Fu Wan, Yitian, Chaoyang Gate (8:00 am to 8:00 pm).

Several long-distance buses also depart from the airport to surrounding cities, including Baoji, Yangling, Lintong, Hancheng, Hanzhong, Weinan, Tongchuan, Yan'an, Qingyang and Pingliang. For more information, ask at the information desks.

Metro

The airport station is located 300 metres from the terminals. There you can board the Airport Intercity Railway service to the North Railway Station (a 35-minute ride). Once here, you can take line 4 to Xingzheng Zhongxin, in downtown Xi'an (11 min.) Both services have a frequency of 10 min. and operate from 6:00 am to 0:00 am. Intermediate stops along the route include Baiqizhai, Qingong, Yuanshuo Lu and Wenjing Lu.

Taxi ranks are located outside gate 211 of the Terminal 2 Arrivals Hall and outside exit 314 of the Terminal 3 Arrivals area. One of the companies available is Xi'an Taxi Dispatch (Tel +86 299 6716). The journey to the centre of Xi'an or Xianyang takes about 20 minutes.

Taxis in Xi'an are mostly identified by their green colour. Black vehicles, on the other hand, are more luxurious and comfortable, but also more expensive. Be aware that taxi drivers generally don't speak English, so it's advisable to have a note with your destination written in Chinese.

It's quite common in China to haggle with the driver, especially for long-distance trips and outside Xi'an, to get better fares.

Although there are issues that seem more than obvious, it is always advisable to take them into account when moving to or from the airport, and especially if we go by public transport.  1- To the airport - It is convenient to leave with a little more anticipation than what is commonly suggested. If you choose a taxi or a private car service, always take into account peak traffic times, demonstrations, strikes or events that may delay the journey to the airport from where you are. It is always good to be informed about what is happening. If you contract a shared transfer service, have a contact telephone number handy in case of any delay by the company. In these cases they usually already have a scheduled collection time. If you use public transport (collective, train) take into account the schedules (weekends and holidays tend to have less frequency), if you have to change and also how to board (if you need a card or paying the driver or motorist at the moment ). These are details that seem obvious, but it is advisable to know so as not to have surprises and suffer a delay that could cause complications. If you rent a car to get to the airport, check where to leave the vehicle. At some airports, there is an exclusive parking lot for rental cars.  2 -From the airport- Here it is a little less stressful since you don't have the pressure of missing your flight. In the worst case, you will arrive later at the place where you are going to stay or at the meeting point where you are trying to arrive. Once you leave the plane, look for your suitcase and finish with the arrival procedures that are required. Then, follow the directions for public transportation or ask the airport staff. It is very useful to find out in advance the schedules of the buses or trains in case you arrive late at night. Not all work 24 hours. The same goes for taxis. In case of using an Uber-type service, have the mobile application handy to contact the driver. On the other hand, if you booked a private transport service, it is likely that they will have a person waiting for you, identified with a sign. If you rent a car to go from the airport to your final destination, for greater peace of mind it is advisable to book it in advance. Rental counters are usually available in the arrivals hall.
