Overnight layover guide. Sleeping facilities in the public zone or boarding area
Please note that some published services and schedules may be subject to change. If the idea is to spend the night in the public area, consider a plan B in case the stay inside the airport is only allowed for those who are about to board.
Spending the night at the airport
While Ottawa Airport is open 24 hours a day, be aware that the security checkpoints close at night, so if you decide to stay inside, you'll have to stay in the public area of the terminal. It is a noisy place, so earplugs or headphones are recommended.
Where to rest: Before the security checkpoint, you will find comfortable benches next to the terminal windows. There are two VIP lounges in the Departures Hall for those passengers who qualify, but these are closed at night. For a longer rest, you can coordinate your transfer with one of the city's hotels. Some options are listed below.
Baggage: There is a 24-hour left-luggage service on level 1.
Eating and drinking: There are no options open during the night at this time, so it is recommended to have snacks and something to drink prepared in advance.
Wi-Fi: Access is free of charge.
Other services available around the clock: ATMs, nursing rooms, children's entertainment room, drinking fountains, pet relief areas.
