Overnight layover guide. Sleeping facilities in the public zone or boarding area
Please note that some published services and schedules may be subject to change. If the idea is to spend the night in the public area, consider a plan B in case the stay inside the airport is only allowed for those who are about to board.
Spending the night at the airport
Vancouver Airport is a convenient and spacious place to spend the night, and has plenty of things to do while you wait for your flight to depart. Note that security personnel may ask for your ticket to allow you to stay on the premises.
Where to rest: Many of the benches are long and do not have armrests, making them ideal for lying down, especially those located in the international area and the baggage claim hall. There are also several VIP lounges for those passengers with larger budgets. The one next to gate 53 is open 24 hours a day. On the other hand, a hotel is located within the airport grounds, in addition to several options in the surrounding area with shuttle service.
Baggage: Luggage storage offices on level 2 of the Main Terminal, available from 6:00 am to 10:00 pm.
Eating and drinking: On level 3, you will find some options open during the night.
Restrooms: Showers only inside some of the VIP lounges.
Wi-Fi: Free unlimited access.
Other services available around the clock: ATMs, currency exchange bureaus, duty-free stores, quiet area, children's playgrounds, baby changing facility.
