Bus

The airport station is located next to car park P2 and has direct access to the check-in area and the Airside Center. Various ZVV services (Tel +41 800 988 988) are available to major locations in the Glatt Valley, Zürcher Unterland and Zurich Oerlikon regions, with departures every 10 minutes to 1 hour.

To get to the city centre, take line 768 to Oerlikon train station, then bus 80 to ETH Hönggerberg and then line E to Haldenegg. The total journey time is approximately 60 minutes.

During the winter season, services to the main ski resorts in the Swiss Alps are provided by Arlberg Express (Tel +43 558 2226), Davos Klosters (Tel +41 814 152 121), Twerenbold (Tel +41 564 848 484) and Laax Airport Shuttle Service (Tel +41 819 209 200). Tickets can be purchased at the service centre (car park P2, level 1) and in Arrivals Halls 1 and 2.

Train

There is a Swiss Federal Railways station (Tel +41 848 446 688) under the terminal, with trains to the city centre and other destinations throughout Switzerland, including Bern, St. Gallen, Lucerne, Basel, Lausanne and Geneva.

The service to Zurich city centre departs every 15 minutes between 5:00 am and 0:45 am and the journey time is 10 min. Tickets can be purchased from machines located in customs halls 1 and 2, the travel centre located in check-in area 3, or at the airport information desks.

Tram

Line 10 from ZVV (Tel +41 800 988 988) runs every 10-30 minutes to Zurich Central Station, with a journey time of 40 min., via Kloten Balsberg, Glattpark, Oerlikon Ost, Berninaplatz, Universití¤t Irchel and Haldenbach. It operates Monday to Friday between 5:10 am and 11:40 pm, weekends from 9:40 am to 9:40 pm.

Line 12 travels to Glattbrugg, Glattpark, Auzelg, Wallisellen and Stettbach every 15 min., and offers various connections to destinations within the transport network.

Taxi

Taxi ranks are located in front of Arrivals Halls 1 and 2. The official site operator is Airport Taxi Zürich (Tel +41 434 441 100). You can also book a vehicle via the company's app. The journey to the centre of Zurich takes about 20 minutes and costs €70.00-90.00.

Although there are issues that seem more than obvious, it is always advisable to take them into account when moving to or from the airport, and especially if we go by public transport.  1- To the airport - It is convenient to leave with a little more anticipation than what is commonly suggested. If you choose a taxi or a private car service, always take into account peak traffic times, demonstrations, strikes or events that may delay the journey to the airport from where you are. It is always good to be informed about what is happening. If you contract a shared transfer service, have a contact telephone number handy in case of any delay by the company. In these cases they usually already have a scheduled collection time. If you use public transport (collective, train) take into account the schedules (weekends and holidays tend to have less frequency), if you have to change and also how to board (if you need a card or paying the driver or motorist at the moment ). These are details that seem obvious, but it is advisable to know so as not to have surprises and suffer a delay that could cause complications. If you rent a car to get to the airport, check where to leave the vehicle. At some airports, there is an exclusive parking lot for rental cars.  2 -From the airport- Here it is a little less stressful since you don't have the pressure of missing your flight. In the worst case, you will arrive later at the place where you are going to stay or at the meeting point where you are trying to arrive. Once you leave the plane, look for your suitcase and finish with the arrival procedures that are required. Then, follow the directions for public transportation or ask the airport staff. It is very useful to find out in advance the schedules of the buses or trains in case you arrive late at night. Not all work 24 hours. The same goes for taxis. In case of using an Uber-type service, have the mobile application handy to contact the driver. On the other hand, if you booked a private transport service, it is likely that they will have a person waiting for you, identified with a sign. If you rent a car to go from the airport to your final destination, for greater peace of mind it is advisable to book it in advance. Rental counters are usually available in the arrivals hall.
