Overnight layover guide. Sleeping facilities in the public zone or boarding area
Please note that some published services and schedules may be subject to change. If the idea is to spend the night in the public area, consider a plan B in case the stay inside the airport is only allowed for those who are about to board.
Can passengers spend the night at the airport?
The terminal remains open 24 hours a day, so those passengers with a connection or cancelled flights can opt to stay inside the airport and avoid extra expenses in hotels and transfers. However, most services close at midnight.
Where to rest?
Unfortunately, all seats have armrests, so laying on the floor is almost obligatory. Therefore, it is best to have a sleeping bag and a blanket, as the air conditioning is usually quite strong. To be more comfortable, another option is to access one of the VIP lounges, two of which are open around the clock (although with a maximum stay of 3-4 hours). For an uninterrupted rest, there are a few hotels near the airport.
Is there a 24-hour left luggage service?
There is a luggage storage service operating 24 hours a day in the Domestic Arrivals area, so you can forget about your bags and spend a more comfortable night.
24-hour eating and drinking options
The food court and bar area closes after midnight.
Does Tocumen airport have showers?
Showers available inside some of the VIP lounges.
Is there free Wi-Fi access?
The airport offers a free connection for 2 hours. Afterwards, you will have to pay for what you consume.
Other services available around the clock:
ATMs, duty-free stores.
